After School Program

COVID-19 has brought much change and uncertainty into all of our lives. We all must plan for the future, but have backup plans in mind. The School Board for Hays CISD will meet in mid-July. Their decisions will help give us all some direction on which of those many plans we will each need to implement.

To help both you and us prepare for the upcoming school year, we have created a short Pre-Registration/Waiting List for our program. Please complete that form if you think you will want to attend the WHAK-GH After School Program. There is no obligation on your part or a deposit required at this time. After the July School Board meeting, we will contact those on the waiting list to see if you wish to complete the full registration. We will also be announcing the tuition rate at that time.

Please note, we hope to accomodate everyone for the upcoming school year, but will give priority to our returning families. Before admittance to the program, new applicants should plan on attending 2 trial karate classes in order to determine their interest in our program and the martial arts.

About Our Program

WHAK of Greater Hays provides a safe and child centered after school program to children in the Buda area. In addition to martial arts classes, the after school program will provide students with a daily homework time and free play time.

What makes a Martial Arts After School Program different from typical after school child care?

Our program offers a challenging, exciting and fun environment for our students. The martial arts framework offers a unique way to teach focus, discipline, confidence, respect for others, self-respect, commitment, concentration, peer pressure skills, ability to follow directions and proper etiquette. All of the above are necessary tools for our children to cope with an ever-changing world.

WHAK of Greater Hays strives to be the most worth while after school program in Hays County, not only caring for your children, but enriching them with values they will keep with them throughout their lives. Tang Soo Do trains students not just in self defense, but also in many of the key values our families and society hold to be worthy.

WHAK also provides students with many opportunities to further their Tang Soo Do education with regular classes, special clinics, tournaments, and family social gatherings.
